Hello & welcome, my name is Brian Fox (aka Foxman/ASCAP) and I am an artist/songwriter from the Tampa Bay area. In 2001, I founded Foxman Music and began writing/releasing my own albums. My current accomplishments include 5 self-released CD's (4 regular releases and 1 demo). I am also currently in the process of writing/recording my 6th album The Fools Mask.
Songs From The Gallery (2001, 9 songs demo)
Like The Freak You Are (2005, 9 songs)
Crazy Like A Fox (2010/11, 13 songs)
Folklore & Superstitions (2013, 15 songs)
The Hollywood Blacklist (2014/15, 17 songs)
The Fools Mask (2017 album release)
I am best known for being a creative writer who thinks outside of the box and employs a bit of a Hollywood approach, which means that I don't always write from my own eyes or life experiences. Each song has it's own unique style and story line. Some of my song themes include; mafia, freemasons, hauntings, doppelgangers, vagrancy, addiction, corrupt politicians, the ongoing battle between good and evil, CIA, karma, money, vampires, relationships, smoking, addiction, faith, and much more. I like to say that all of my music centers around one simple old adage ... "God, the devil and the conscience in between". Simple said, I write from the crossroads and allow everyone else to decide which path that they want to take. Many people have told me that my music is very inspiring and animated. Others have said that I am thought provoking, witty and very intense. I do have an uncanny/playful way of tackling darker topics and bringing them to light. For the most part, everything you hear in my music is all me. I handle all my own vocals and play all my own instruments (guitars, bass, keys and percussion). I started writing poetry at a very young age and eventually, over the years, those poems grew to became song lyrics. Some of my early writing influences were; Alfred Hitchcock, Edgar Alen Poe, Dr. Seuss & Shel Silverstein. Some of my early musical influences were Pink Floyd, Ramones, Metallica, Social Distortion, Nirvana, REM & CCR. The first instrument that I learned how to play was the bass guitar. Over the years, I have developed into an accomplished guitarist, but I still tend to think of myself as a songwriting bass player (ASIDE: I even prefer to play the acoustic guitar with my fingers instead of using a pick, like a bass). I refer to myself as a percussionist, because I am not a drummer. I do use a drum machine. This should in no way cheapen what I am doing! The drum machine is programmed in real time by hand one beat at a time, then one measure at a time, until I have the entire song worked out. It is a very tedious and time consuming process! These days a lot of people are doing their recordings using a PC and programs. I prefer to be a bit old school and I still love my good ole reliable BR1600CD. It pisses me off that Boss is no longer making this product and I know I will have to make some changes in the future, but for now I am not going to change from what has been working for me. Well, there you go, that is my story. I am very dedicated to my craft and this is what I was born to do. I found the ways and means to get all that craziness out of my head and into yours. Go crank up some Foxman Music and terrorize your neighborhood. Turn it into a pandemic that will forever haunt the Billboard Charts.
Foxman Art Work
Another thing that sets me apart from my peers, is that I am also an accomplished artist. Back in my grade school/high school days, I was always known as the class artist. When I am not working on writing/recording music, I am usually working on some form of artwork. Some of my work can be found in the various graphic designs for my albums, as well as in some of my music videos. Below you will find images of some of my handmade collages. Please make sure to visit the Foxman Art Gallery page (above right) to see a bigger display of some of my artwork (includes acrylic paintings). Original Foxman artwork is available for purchase at my Etsy Art Studio. You can access this website by clicking on any of the images below.
A massive 20"x30" Titanic Collage (one of my favorites)
16"x20" Insanity Collage (not for sale)
Time permitting, I am open minded to doing custom collages. I am especially fond of the ones with a sports team theme like the Florida Gators one above, which does include an actual game used ticket from one of their Championship seasons. If you are interested, then send me a message and we'll go from there. I am very easy to work with.
Custom 16"x20" Corvette Collage for Thomas Beckman
* This collage features the 1963 Corvette Stingray as the centerpiece and 2 includes 2 collectors cards (one is a very rare 1962-63 German issue) . It's shown professionally framed, shrink wrapped & ready to ship.
